** DRAFT **

The Special Projects Directorate is a unit within the Keewatin Tribal Council (KTC) that operates out of the KTC sub-office located at 100-55 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3C 1L8 and is responsible for projects and initiatives that are either one-off in nature e.g. First Nations and Inuit Health Branch E-Health/Manitoba First Nations SchoolNet/Broadband Communications North/Community Support Services Program etc. and/or which may demand particular skill-sets.

The unit provides technical and other support services to help the KTC and its member First Nations meet the objectives they have set for themselves in addressing quality of life issues at the community level. Special Projects under the direction of the KTC CEO and in collaboration with its sister KTC directorates such as Community Services and Health is a focal point for providing the KTC and the member First Nation Communities planning, data synthesis and assessment and business development technical services.

Services also extend to participation on various committees and boards.

Special Projects has professional staff devoted to researching and analyzing the initiatives set by the Chief Executive Officer of the KTC under the direction of the KTC Chiefs. Special projects activities may include gathering data concerning current and future development, producing written material including proposals and applications for funding, and explanation of project data.
