The Education Services Department of KTC provides student & counseling services in Thompson & Winnipeg. The department administers the following programs:
Post Secondary Student Support Program (PSSP) is Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) funded Agreement with Keewatin First Nation Student Services: it provides financial assistance to eligible Status Indigenous members from the 6 KTC First Nations towards the cost of a Post-Secondary Education. The following KTC 6 First Nations are: Barren Lands First Nation, Northlands Denesuline First Nation, Sayisi Dene First Nation, Fox Lake Cree Nation, War Lake First Nation & York Factory First Nation. Deadline for post secondary applications is May 15th every year.
Private Home Placement Program (PHP) is Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) funded: The objective of the PHP program is to assist First Nation members of Keewatin First Nations Student Services to gain access to program/grades not available in their home community and to graduate with qualifications and skills needed to pursue individual careers and to contribute to the achievement of First Nation self-government and economic self-reliance. The PHP Program provides financial, academic & personal assistance to eligible First Nation/Band members from God's Lake First Nation, War Lake First Nation & Barren Lands First Nation towards the completion of a high school program. Deadline for high school applications is June 15th every year.
